FAQ: Yoga Nidra and NSDR
Most people today are overly stressed and sleep deprived.
Yoga Nidra creates deep physical restoration.
Relaxes the whole body and allows for optimal function of all of the body's systems.
What is it?
Yoga Nidra is a sleep-based guided mediation. The meditation involves a series of structured awareness techniques that effortlessly take you into deep relaxation where you can change your relationship with thoughts, habits, and stressful situations.
How do you do it?
Lay back and listen.
Many people can struggle with meditation, yet the beauty of Yoga Nidra lies in its simplicity. It harnesses the familiar state of sleep, making it accessible to everyone regardless of prior experience. There's no "right" or "wrong" way to practice Yoga Nidra; the challenge often lies in remaining awake. However, even if you drift into sleep during the practice, you'll still reap its remarkable benefits.
I like to lay down in a quiet space with a blanket for warmth and an eye pillow over my eyes. I usually place a small pillow under my head and a pillow underneath my knees to relax my lower back. Practicing sitting in a chair is also great. Or seated with the back against the wall. The priority is comfort.

It is a great supplement for all individuals especially people experiencing heightened stress. The practice of Yoga Nidra helps to release built up stress and form new pathways to prevent future stress. With this practice the brain and body become more resilient.
The practice creates the memory within the body to know how to relax. To create calm. This can be called upon at anytime. A sense of spaciousness and safety is cultivated and becomes more and more available with more repetition.
Unlike other support systems, the effects of meditation increase over time. Practice Practice Practice.
Where can I find Yoga Nidra?
I support people in their healing by creating customized meditations. I craft personalized experiences based on your particular needs. I find these to be extremely supportive for big life events or surgery. I also support people in identifying and addressing the root cause of stress and implementing a practice that facilitates healing on all levels. I have expedited my healing of bulimia, PTSD from sexual trauma, and broken bones by practicing Yoga Nidra.
