Walking Backwards
Walking backwards helps me be strong and integrated throughout my days.
Walking backwards is awesome. Especially uphill.
It works different parts of the feet and affects the whole body. I find that walking backwards helps me shift my weight instead of leaning forward in an anxious unstable stance. I pull my skull back and I walk with the weight in the back of my body. That’s where I move from. Stable, grounded, ready. Strong. Integrated.
This is especially important as I spend many hours a day leaning forward breastfeeding and holding my baby. Many common actions cause forward leaning like working on a computer, driving a car, and scrolling on a cellphone. Walking backwards can be a great antidote.
Try it and let me know!
